ABOUT CASABLANCA COMICS

Established in 1987, Casablanca Comics has retail locations in Portland and Windham, Maine.  Owned by Rick Lowell and Laura O’Meara, Casablanca Comics has been nationally recognized for excellence in retailing. We first opened our doors in a former barber shop with about 150 square feet of space and the barber’s sink still there as you walked in the door. We celebrated our 25th anniversary by serving homemade pies to our customers on March 14, 2012 (3.14 is π day, and yes, we are geeks). This has become a tradition ever since and we now serve pie on our anniversary every year.

Visit at us at either location to get great recommendations from Rick, Laura, Matt, Dave and Matt (we have two Matts).  Our focus is to bring great reading and fun to all ages and interests. We also have one of the most extensive collections of vintage back issue comic books in the region. We are constantly buying new collections and our stock is always changing.

Past events have included numerous creator appearances, launches of amazing back issue collections, and celebrations of everything from strawberry shortcake for the Fourth of July to Zombies and Zucchini Bread for Walking Dead #100 (we like to bake for our customers).

Casablanca Comics created and hosted the Maine Comics Arts Festival and the Portland Comic Expo from 2009-2019.
