New at Casablanca ComicsTuesday, May 06, 2008Brain Wood at Casablanca Comics May 17th THE NEXT BIG THING... MEET BRIAN WOOD (DC COMICS WRITER OF DMZ, DEMO, NORTHLANDERS) SATURDAY, MAY 17TH AT CASABLANCA COMICS !!! That's right!!! We are very pleased to welcome Brian Wood on Saturday, May 17th. Brian will be our guest speaker at the Maine Festival of the Book. Saturday, May 17th: 3:15 pm Portland Public Library, Rines Auditorium Comics and Conversation with Brian Wood Brian Wood, the Eisner-Award-winning creator of the comics works Demo, DMZ, and Local, will discuss his work in a slide presentation. (Presented by Casablanca Comics.) This should be a great program and we encourage everyone to attend. We would love to fill the auditorium for this one. A book signing will follow at the Casablanca Comics Portland store. We will be coming straight from the event at the library so it should be between 4-5 PM. There will be plenty of Brian's books on hand at the store for him to sign. Please e-mail with any questions. Thanks to everyone who attended our Free Comic Book Day celebration. We had lines out the door for hours and handed out thousands of free comic books. Same time next year (first Saturday in May).
